I went to the
farmer's market at the Home Depot Plaza on Friday. A most interesting
item, a streaked, light purple, unfinished appearing zucchini shaped
vegetable, made a novel appearance. It was called a "fairy eggplant".
Additionally, a smiling man cooked corn on the grill and it could be
purchased for $1.00. It was ever so delicious! Hotdogs and sausages also
were available. A polite vender pointed out where sparkling clean
condiments were located.
The outdoor market was terrific. Friends greeted each other with hugs
while young families together looked over the goods. The sunshine was
beaming down and the knowledge that the summer sky was not lost hunting
through aisles for food added to the pleasure.
